Cute house with big beds host was very friendly
We chose this listing after extensive research because of the location, photos, free parking, recent “remodel”, and the higher price point, which suggested a more upscale stay. Unfortunately, the space did not align with the listing. Several details differed from the photos, including bedding quality, worn and uncomfortable furniture, and a bathroom light fixture that didn’t work and made the space difficult to use. There was also an odor that appeared to be masked with empty plug-in air fresheners, and overall cleanliness did not meet expectations, including a fan covered in dead bugs. During our stay, the roof began leaking. We offered to vacate halfway through to allow repairs, but this was declined. The issue was disruptive and took significant time out of the final two days of our trip, and communication around it felt uncomfortable. Based on our stay, this property did not match the photos or price point. The place would benefit from updates and a deep clean. Wouldn’t stay again.
The location was excellent and worth what we paid. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot. The host was responsive during our stay. However, the listing photos did not accurately represent the unit. It was described as newly remodeled, but aside from newer kitchen appliances, the space felt old, dark, and somewhat dingy. Lighting was poor and cleanliness was below expectations. We believed we were booking an entire home, but this is a shared building and we were in the downstairs unit. The walls and ceilings are extremely thin. The staircase runs along the bedroom wall, and normal movement upstairs was very loud and shook the walls. Talking and music sounded like they were in the same room. This was a building issue, not the other guests. The host emphasized how important a 5-star stay was, but when we raised these concerns after struggling to sleep, no solution was offered. Asking for 5 stars while misrepresenting the unit did not feel appropriate.
